ALIPD Training
Fight Parkinson’s disease with this group training programme. We use the latest research on neuroplasticity, exercise, and Parkinson’s disease to develop this state of the art programme. The big difference between this and other programmes is that we combine novel cognitive, visual, and motor challenges tailored to your specific problems to deliver a session that stimulates and challenges your brain and body to fight the degeneration of Parkinson’s disease.
We called it ALIPD training; inspired by Mohammed Ali as he has fought Parkinson’s for many years, inspiring others to do so. We employ forced exercise via tandem stationary riding as part of our programme. This therapy was discovered by chance and can assist many neurological conditions. In addition, we use boxing and other high intensity activities to make sessions fun and stimulating.
This group programme will be tailored to you.We assess all participants individually to identify the things they need to improve. ALIPD Training is held 4 times a week. A maximum of 3 people per group is maintained for safety. The ratio of staff is 3 to 1, cost is $40 per session. Bookings are essential to ensure a place.
We recommend an initial intensive schedule 8-15 sessions over 3 – 4 weeks to give an intensive boost to your brain and body. We can then provide a home programme.(Note some more dependent patients may not be able to undertake this training due to safety concerns and may need one to one supervision. Your therapist will discuss this at the time of assessment if necessary)
